João Vicente de Castro participou do programa especial de aniversário do ‘Que História É Essa, Porchat?’, que vai ao ar hoje na Globo, e contou uma história de quando salvou Caetano Veloso de um possível afogamento no mar da Bahia.

O ator começou a contar a história com personagens impressionantes: “Estava eu, 31 de dezembro, num barco. Eu, Caetano, Queen Latifah”, disse ele. João afirmou que, durante o passeio de barco, todos decidiram parar numa praia nas proximidades para aproveitar, e o ator foi o primeiro a pular na água. Segundo ele, o mar não estava tão bom de nadar, mas ele foi mesmo assim.

Caetano, que estava na beira do barco, foi incentivado a nadar um pouco por sua esposa, Paula Lavigne. “Caetano, vai logo que você não faz um exercício desde novembro, e é bom que você já mergulha”, contou João em tom de brincadeira. Ao pular na água, o cantor consagrado da MPB nadou um pouco, mas logo se cansou. João viu a cena, e Caetano — que também é seu padrinho de batismo — disse: “Eu tô com medo”.

O ator deu o braço para que Caetano se apoiasse, e o cantor se segurou nas costas de João, que começou a se afogar com o peso. O humorista pediu o bote que havia no barco, mas a pessoa que estava conduzindo a embarcação não conseguiu tirá-lo do lugar. João Vicente, então, pediu o colete salva-vidas, mas ele caiu muito próximo do barco. “Eu pensei: ‘O que se faz numa situação dessas?’. Ouvi dizer que (se dá) um soco na cara. Dizem que é isso, mas isso tudo funciona na teoria. Agora imagina se eu dou um soco no Caetano e ele não apaga?”, disse João, divertindo os convidados.

Ao final da história, um bote veio ao encontro dos dois. Porém, o veículo parou de funcionar e João teve que levar o bote a nado até a praia. “Entendeu o que eu fiz pela humanidade? Eu salvei a vida de Caetano Veloso, e você? Fez o que da sua poltrona?”, disse o ator, arrancando risos da plateia.
